Dolphin Index Indicator (DII)

(formerly known as the Innovation Climate Questionnaire - ICQ)

Using the Dolphin Index Indicator (DII) can help release the creative and innovative potential within specific key teams, departments and throughout your entire organisation.

Research has found that organisational climate is key to the success of teams, departments and organisations. Innovation Centre Europe (ICE) provides the most comprehensive measure of a team's, department's and organisation's climate, the Dolphin Index Indicator (DII).

Using the Dolphin Index Indicator (DII) is probably the most important step you can take towards increasing levels of creativity and innovation. Taking only ten minutes or so to complete, the DII assesses work climate factors that promote or stifle creativity and innovation within a team, department or organisation. It is an invaluable tool for all directors, leaders, managers - in fact, everyone -  who wants to understand and improve the work climate within key teams, departments, divisions, or the entire organisation.

By identifying strengths and weaknesses in various aspects of the work climate, the DII provides a rigorous and validated tool that can be used to inform decisions relating to changing the climate for the better. The DII assesses employees' views of a team, department or organisation. An understanding of this shared perception is central to team through to organisational change and development. Furthermore, the DII can be used as an ongoing audit process for a team, department or organisation, for example to monitor the success or otherwise of specific learning and change interventions.
